PBKA Beekeepers Basic Assessment Success
In May of this year eight beekeepers from the Association successfully took the WBKA Basic Assessment. Paul Eades and Jeremy Percy achieving distinctions with Paul scoring ‘the highest mark ever since the WBKA started recording them’.
All those taking part felt that preparing and taking this assessment was very valuable to them and they plan to take at least the Honeybee Management (Module 1) next year.

Country Focus – BBC Radio Wales
BBC Radio Wales visited Scolton Manor on Wednesday 4thJuly to do a feature on the new Pembrokeshire Beekeeping Centre, which was broadcast on BBC Radio Wales ‘Country Focus’ on Sunday 8th July. Treating Varroa – Apiguard
Please note that Geoff Bazin will shortly be putting in a bulk order for Apiguard. Apiguard is a recommended treatment for Varroa and needs to be administered at the end of the main flow, but before giving the winter feed. This is an ideal opportunity available only for PBKA members to obtain this Varroa treatment at a favourable cost. Please contact Geoff with your order before the end of July at the very latest.
