The queen is blamed for almost everything in a beehive. Bad temper? Queen’s fault. Poor honey crop? Queen’s fault. Rain all summer? Possibly still the queen’s fault. In this webinar we’ll separate myth from reality, explore common queen problems, and discuss practical solutions for keeping colonies productive, healthy and headed by queens that are up to the job.

Jane Medwell is a Master Beekeeper, BBKA Trustee and enthusiastic teacher of all things bee-related. A regular contributor to BBKA News, she enjoys helping beekeepers understand not just what to do, but why. When not in the apiary, she can usually be found writing, teaching, peering down a microscope, or pursuing her MSc in Entomology at Harper Adams University, where her research focuses on emerging threats to pollinator health.
