On a very warm afternoon earlier today, we had a successful apiary training meeting.

We checked supers and added more as needed. We double-brooded a strong nuc, in order to make a split in a week or two and from this nuc, used a frame of eggs to check hives for the presence of a queen in a possibly queenless hive.

Though full inspections weren’t completed on all hives, we did check two hives to see if Virgin Queens we ran in three weeks ago had mated and success!! Eggs in one and capped brood in another, so an excellent and satisfying result .
