Swansea & District Beekeepers Social Evening & Talk – Tuesday 10th May

Swansea & District Beekeepers’ Society have kindly invited PBKA members to an evening talk and discussion ‘hosted’ by Robert Jones and entitled  “Locally adapted bees, Native bees or Gower bees” on Tuesday 10th May.

If you don’t know Rob he has been beekeeping ‘for a hundred years’ and is a very experienced beekeeper. Rob is passionate about bees and beekeeping and always has something interesting to say.

The venue will be the Main Bar of the Gowerton Con Club – this is the room immediately in front of you as you come through the main door. The talk will start at 7.30 pm and you are therefore asked to arrive 15 -20 minutes before to ensure that any bar orders are satisfied before the talk starts. For those of you that have not been to the Gowerton Con Club before it is located on the corner of  Sterry Road and Church Street, Gowerton with the entrance to the building being in Church Street.

Everyone is very welcome.

Best PBKA Auction ever!

We are pleased to report that the PBKA Auction held on Saturday 30th April was the biggest in living memory with a terrific selection of new and quality secondhand equipment, as well as a large selection of colonies for sale which had all been pre-checked by the Bee Inspector. There was an excellent turnout of buyers also from all over Wales, with barely a lot left at the end.

Many thanks to all those who put in lots, or purchased items and a special thank you to all those who helped set it up and run it on the day.

Great teamwork!!

Auction day tomorrow!

The PBKA Beekeeping Auction is on tomorrow (Saturday 30th April) at the Brithdir Hall, Withybush Showground at Haverfordwest.

Viewing starts at 11.00am, with the auction starting promptly at 1pm.

If you are bringing items for the auction (not bees!) please bring them this evening (Friday) after 6pm, or tomorrow on auction day from 9.00am. Note that all lots must be in place before 11.00am.

We look forward to seeing you there.
