Just to advise that the final apiary meeting of the season is this Sunday 20th September 2026 at the Woodland Apiary, Scolton Manor commencing at 2pm promptly.

Programme:

Jobs to do will include supplementing stores in the hives/nucs with syrup and
we’ll also do some tidying up. It’s been a very successful season. The apiary is now up to twelve hives, two, six frame nucs and two Abelo Mini Plus nucs. All are queen right and set up, when supplemented with additional stores, to take the apiary into 2027 🤞. Come along on Sunday to help feed, and discuss the successes of 2026. Also to find out what we are planning- with your help and ideas as members – to do at the apiary in 2027 and possible events to get members together over the Winter, ‘beeless’, months. There might even be a cup of tea on offer, so bring a packet of biscuits 👍.

BEGINNERS – Beginners are encouraged to attend! Please ensure you bring a bee suit (if you have one), sturdy footwear covering your ankles (i.e not Crocs!!), and suitable gloves, such as rubber Marigolds (e.g. not woollen gloves!)

If you do not have a bee suit (typically beginners/new members), then please advise us in good time if you can, as we have a limited number of bee suits available, which we can loan you for the session. N.B. You will need to bring your own boots and gloves as above however. It would be helpful if those people requiring a bee suit could arrive before 2pm in order to save time.
