WBKA webinar on swarming

Dear Beekeepers
The WBKA will be holding a webinar about Swarming on Tuesday 9th June 2020 at 7pm.  Wally Shaw will give a presentation about dealing with a colony that has set up to swarm lasting about 45 mins.  After that talk there will be an opportunity for those attending the webinar to ask questions to both Wally and others.

You will need to give your name and email address and you will then be sent an automatic email from the organiser, Caroline Mullinex which contains a link for you to use to join the meeting at the appropriate time.  You can send in your questions either before or during the session.
This webinar session is open for anyone to attend and so we would appreciate it if you would circulate this email to as many beekeepers as you can.  We have also put the details on the Welsh Beekeepers’ Association Facebook page

WBKA Convention – Cancelled

Please note that the WBKA has followed Government advice and cancelled the 2020 Convention as a measure to assist with slowing the spread of the Coronavirus.  The Events Team are working to reimburse those that bought early bird tickets.  Planning will now start for the next convention on March 27th 2021.

The Beginners’ Beekeeping Course is filling up!!

There now only a limited number of places available for the one-day classroom based course for the beginner to beekeeping (or as a refresher) on Saturday 21st March 2020, at the Picton Centre in Haverfordwest.

These courses have been very popular over the years, giving many potential beekeepers the confidence to attend practical lessons with Pembrokeshire Beekeepers’ Association, and to keep their own bee hives!

International Meeting of Young Beekeepers (IMYB) in Slovenia

The Welsh Beekeepers Association are looking for young beekeepers aged between 12 & 17 years to represent Wales in this years International Meeting of Young Beekeepers (IMYB) being held in Slovenia.
This is a great event that will be funded by the Welsh Beekeepers Association.
