Following our recent post about the loss of the beginners’ training apiary at Kethins, we are pleased to report that a potential new site has now been found. Many thanks to all of you who kindly made suggestions or offered accomodation and we will post further details on this and the next working party soon!
PBKA Apiary
New Apiary required – urgently!
As members will know, the Beginners training has been carried out at Kethins Farm, Haverfordwest for many years. Unfortunately, the owner has decided to renovate the farm buildings to be more commercial in nature and has asked the PBKA to vacate the place as soon as possible.
This is a big blow and we now need to quickly identify an alternative location to carry on this valuable service for new members.
The basic requirement is for sufficient and suitable space for a dozen hives, enough parking for a dozen or so cars and preferably a shed or outbuilding for storage of equipment and for somewhere to sit and discuss all things bee related.
If any member has, or knows, of a potentially suitable site then please give the Chairman, Jerry Percy a ring on 01437 751357.
Final Apiary Meeting of the Season
Would all beginners and improvers of the PBKA please note that tomorrow (Sunday 24th September) is the last apiary meeting of the season for BOTH GROUPS at the Pembrokeshire Beekeeping Centre, Scolton Manor. The meeting starts at the usual time of 2pm and we look forward to seeing you there.
Apiary meeting at Scolton Manor on Sunday 4th June cancelled
Would PBKA members please note that the apiary meeting at Scolton Manor, originally scheduled for Sunday 4th June, has been cancelled due to an event being held at Scolton on that day. The next apiary meeting will be on Sunday 18th June.
CANCELLED – Beginners Apiary Meeting
Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances, this Sunday’s (11th September) apiary meeting for Beginners is cancelled.
The next (and final) meeting of the season will be at the Pembrokeshire Beekeeping Centre at Scolton Manor, for both Beginners and Improvers on Sunday 18th September at 2pm; the day after the Honey Show.
Apologies for any inconvenience.
