Practical training sessions

Just to advise that the training sessions for beginners will be starting soon. As you know, we have been developing a new training apiary and we hope to have it ready for use shortly. We will put another post on again to advise a starting date just as soon as we can.

We will also make an announcement about the improvers sessions, so watch this space!

Please note that these sessions are for PBKA members only.

Working Party / Gweithgor

We had another highly successful working party on Sunday, installing the hive stands ready for the bees at our new Woodland Apiary at Scolton Manor.

Many thanks once again to all of you who turned up to help and we also enjoyed our post-installation meeting at the tea shop, with some of Lesley’s delicious flap jacks!

We hope to get the bees installed after the Easter break and we will let you know when the practical training sessions are commencing.

Nearly there!

…………………………..

Cawsom weithgor hynod lwyddiannus arall ddydd Sul, yn gosod y standiau cwch gwenyn yn barod ar gyfer y gwenyn yn ein Gwenynfa Goedwig newydd ym Maenordy Scolton.

Diolch yn fawr unwaith eto i bob un ohonoch a ddaeth i helpu ac fe wnaethom hefyd fwynhau ein cyfarfod yn y siop de, gyda rhai o fflap jacs blasus Lesley!

Rydym yn gobeithio symud y gwenyn i’w lleoliad newydd ar ôl gwyliau’r Pasg a byddwn yn rhoi gwybod i chi pan fydd y sesiynau hyfforddi ymarferol yn cychwyn.

Bron yno!

Volunteers required!

The PBKA has been very successful in recent years with its ever increasing membership, the development of the Pembrokeshire Beekeeping Centre and the continuing popularity of its training sessions at the Association apiaries. We also have other developments in the pipeline for 2022, including our new training apiary at Scolton, which we will be advising you on further in due course.

It all takes a lot of work to keep the Association running however and we are currently looking for additional volunteers to help!

Roles which currently need filling include:

  • Membership Secretary
  • Swarm Coordinators
  • Undertaking routine hive inspections, maintenance, etc. at the Association apiaries

If you are interested in becoming a PBKA volunteer, please email the Chair, Paul Eades, at pbkaapiarymanager@live.co.uk

Many thanks!
