Articles wanted by WBKA

Dear Beekeepers

We are looking for articles on practical matters, such as beekeeping equipment, colony management, issues etc.  If you have tried some new equipment or management techniques or found a new problem that you think other beekeepers in Wales would like to know about please get in touch with the editor Basil Wolf on editor@wbka.com.   The deadline for items for the Winter edition of the magazine is the end of October.

We are always keen to see your letters, comments and local news. Also please do not forget the quarterly photo competition.  Make sure that you read the rules of the competition which can be found on the back cover of the magazine before sending in your entry (available also on the WBKA website https://wbka.com/welsh-beekeeper-magazine/

If you have any suggestions for articles that you would like to see in the magazine and even an author in mind or you have any comments about the magazine please contact the editor on editor@wbka.com.

Thank you

C. Wynne Jones 1935 – 2023

It is with great sadness that we have received the news that C Wynne Jones died peacefully at home yesterday, 23rd June.  We send our heartfelt condolences to his family and many friends.  Wynne has been a great supporter of Welsh beekeepers and was a prominent member of the WBKA in past years.  He was Chair of the association on two occasions and helped to steer us through difficult times.  For his support and endeavours on behalf of the WBKA he was made an Honorary Member of the WBKA in 2008. Although poor health, in recent years, has curtailed his involvement we know that the WBKA was always important to him.

He will be sadly missed.
