UPDATE re Training Meeting – Sunday 4th September @ 2pm (+ deliveries!)

Please note that the next beekeeping meeting for both Beginners and Improvers is at Scolton Manor, on Sunday 4th September 2022, commencing at 2pm.

Note that apiary meetings are for PBKA members only.

Access to the apiaries is only at pre-arranged times when a PBKA Committee member (or Committee approved PBKA Member) is present.

Please ensure you bring the necessary protective gear with you to meetings; e.g. bee suit, gloves (e.g. Marigolds), and suitable footwear which will cover your ankles (e.g. wellingtons: not Crocs!); or you will not be allowed access to the apiary. If you are a beginner and do not have a bee suit, please advise us beforehand if possible.

NB. George Durham will be attending to deliver orders, eg. Apivar varroa treatment, honey jars, Invertbee feed, etc. So, if you have any requirements, please contact George asap on 07855 677890.

Please note that pets and young children are not allowed and any young people (12 to 18) attending must be participants in the activity. It is recommended that you do not wear perfume, aftershave, hairspray, etc. as bees have a very well developed sense of smell and may take an unwelcome interest in you!

If you are known to suffer from severe allergic reactions to bee stings, you must advise us of this, or of any other condition, which could pose a significant risk.
