The PBKA is holding a skep making course on Saturday 27th April in the Green Barn at Scolton, for PBKA members only. We only have a few spaces available however on a strictly first come first served basis, so if you are interested, please let me know asap.

If we can’t fit you onto this course, we hope to run another at a later date if there are enough interested people. The cost is being subsidised by the PBKA and will only cost members £30.00 for the day, to include all materials, and refreshments (please bring your own lunch).

NOW FULLY SUBSCRIBED!!

URGENT:Starvation risk warning!

Given the continuing inclement weather and the increasing amount of brood being produced. This is to remind beekeepers everywhere to check their bees for stores (especially nucs), particularly if you didn’t give yours a full winter feed at the end of last season.

So give your hives a heft and if needed, give them some fondant or candy and recheck regularly!

This is also a good time to treat for Varroa while brood numbers are still low.

POSTPONED – First apiary inspection of the season – this Sunday 31st March!

Hi All

With reference to my earlier post,  the weather isn’t looking too good and of course it is also Easter Sunday, (which I confess I had forgotten about). I suggest therefore that we postpone this Sunday’s proposed apiary inspection and reschedule another date in due course.

Many thanks to those of you that have offered to help, it is very much appreciated. Hopefully, you will be available for the next one!

Best regards

Paul
